APPLICATION OF COMPASS PACKAGE 3D IN SOLVING PROBLEMS OF THEORY OF MECHANISMS AND MACHINES
Abstract
When studying the discipline "Theory of mechanisms and machines," students of technical specialties need
to master the methods of analyzing the structure of the mechanism, understand the structure of the mechanism and
its functioning. In the article, the authors provide a comparative analysis of four approaches to solving problems
of the Theory of Mechanisms and Machines. The authors also proposed the use of the 3D design package Compass
3D when performing strength analysis on contact stresses and bending stresses of teeth of mechanism elements.
Students can independently conduct multivariable studies, which certainly contributes to a better understanding of
physical and mechanical phenomena occurring in materials, depending on the geometric shapes, properties of
materials and the effects of external forces.
