Abstract

In the age of global pollution of our planet and solving the problems associated with the formation of the "greenhouse effect" hanging over humanity, there is an urgent need for decisive action aimed at reducing the anthropogenic impact on the environment. Currently, many EU countries and former CIS countries are ready to take active steps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. More and more new bills are being issued, the requirements for countries and industrial enterprises, which are significantly "out of the blue" from the list of "environmentally oriented", are being tightened.

If we talk about Russia's position in the overall focus on the greening of production, then it is still a lagging country, but there are positive trends in development. At the moment, the emission of greenhouse gases from the activities of industries, energy enterprises and road transport is estimated as quite high. A whole set of associated gases that pollute the atmosphere are emitted from the activities of motor transport. But humanity is able to rectify the situation. The paper proposes a mechanism for solving the problem of atmospheric pollution by greenhouse gases in the residential area, within the city of St. Petersburg. Fostering a culture of ecological thinking through the organization of a volunteer movement promoting the idea of ecotourism, with the organization of walking tours, can be a useful addition to tourist routes in the "Northern Capital".
